Birkenhead River > Fishing Reports
Birkenhead River is fishing as good as I have ever seen it, with lots of large Rainbow Trout, Rocky Mountain Whitefish and Bull Trout. The patterns we have been having the most success with are; Egg Patterns, grey stoneflies, golden stoneflies, bead headed hares ear nymphs and egg sucking leeches. Most of these patterns are best fished with a strike indicator on a dry line. The river is easily waded this time of year so, get as far away from the Highway as you can for best results. We have been seeing a fair amount of Bear activity on the Birkenhead River this year and for this we recommend that you carry bear spray. You can purchase Bear Spray at Spud Valley Sporting Goods in Pemberton, BC at 1380 Birch Street. The boys at the sport shop fish the river a ton and can be very helpful in selecting you some flies or helping with directions to the Birkenhead River. If you are needing the assistance of a guide check out Pemberton Fish Finder @ http://pembertonfishfinder.com/home.html
