Fishing Koho In Beautiful Pemberton, British Columbia
Koho Are starting to enter the Lillooet River and Lake. With the current cold weather we have been having the Rivers are beginning to clear up and fall. In Pemberton it is not uncommon to catch a 20lb Koho. When the Koho enter the Birkenhead River most the fishing is done by sighting and then casting at them. While in the Upper and Lower Lillooet Rivers most of the fishing for these lunker Koho is done by casting large Spoons because of the water clarity issues. For best luck on the Lillooet system use These Spoons; #1Spinnex Spoon, #2Spinnex Spoon, #3Spinnex Spoon. On the fly try using our house fly "The Lillooet Killer" its not just a clever name! Also use large streamers. When it comes to the Birkenhead River there has been a few changes to the regulations as to Salmon Fishing, this being said check the REGS. I have had best luck fishing Koho in the Birkenhead River with Large Spinners. Examples; #1Spinner, #2Spinner, #3Spinner. Fly Fishing for Koho in the Birkenhead River can be very FUN. Try using large streamers and minnow patterns in Blue, Green and Orange.
